The Sierra Club Virginia Chapter has just issued its endorsement to David J. Toscano for his re-election bid to the 57th House of Delegates District, representing the City of Charlottesville and part of Albemarle County. Toscano has served in the Virginia General Assembly since 2006, and the group cited Toscano’s “leadership on environmental issues” and his “commitment to introduce and advocate for environmental measures in the House of Delegates.”
Toscano has consistently received the support of statewide environmental groups, having been designated “Legislative Hero” by the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) for ten consecutive years.
Toscano, who has opposition in his party’s June 13 Democratic Primary, has recently received the endorsement of the Virginia Education Association Fund and has a 100 percent rating from NARAL-Virginia, a major advocacy group supporting reproductive rights.
“I greatly appreciate the endorsements that I am receiving from various groups who support the values of our area, and who work so hard to make and keep the Commonwealth a better place to live, work, and play,” Toscano said. “I will continue to fight for our environment and expand use of renewable energy in the Commonwealth.”
Information about Toscano’s views on a variety of issues, as well as the bills he has passed and positions he has taken during his years in office, can be found throughout this website, especially under General Assembly Updates and Issues.
